According a 2006 study titled “Impact of color on marketing,” researchers found that up to 90% of snap judgments made about products can be based on color alone. People make up their minds within 90 seconds of their initial interactions with a product with about 62‐90% being based on colors alone. Color helps influence hundreds upon hundreds of billions of dollars of buying decisions. Saying color is important in marketing would be a massive understatement.

For designers, choosing the right color palette to convey the desired mood is a challenging task, especially if you have to match to existing brand colors. Then, clearly and objectively convincing your stakeholders to adopt your design recommendations is another matter. Marketers and designers have to struggle with this on a daily basis.
