Scott MogullAssociate ProfessorTexas State University - Technical Communication Program

Dr. Scott Mogull is an Associate Professor of Technical Communication in the Department of English at Texas State University. He has a Ph.D. in Technical Communication from Texas Tech University where he researched pharmaceutical marketing. Currently, his primary research focuses on commercialization of technology through content marketing. Prior to academia, Dr. Mogull spent nearly a decade in the biotechnology, biodefense, and molecular diagnostics industries in roles such as product manager and marketing manager. While in industry, Dr. Mogull launched over 100 new products for molecular biology research and was the marketing manager at Ambion behind the multi-million dollar market for microRNA technology. Since 2008, Dr. Mogull has been on the editorial board of the journal Technical Communication Quarterly. With Rebecca Geier, Dr. Mogull is co-authoring the first textbook on content marketing to be published by John Wiley & Sons as part of the IEEE-PCS Professional Engineering Communication Book Series.
