Remember those days when all you had to do was find high-volume keywords and create good-enough content to rank for them? Those searches and clicks would boost your rankings, drive awareness, and bring in new business.

Sadly, those days are gone. The platforms — and it's not just Google! It's social media too — are hoarding that traffic for themselves, trying to keep users on the search engine results page or scrolling in their app. And even if you do get that click, there's a good chance you won't even know it because social networks are (at least sometimes) hiding those referrals.
