In this two-hour HANDS ON workshop, join Chief Data Scientist Christopher Penn zooming in live from his home office to learn the basics of content marketing analytics: what to pay attention to, what systems to use, and how to make decisions from your data. You'll learn:
- How to build a content marketing analytics report in the free Google Data Studio using Google Analytics data
- How to assess what metrics matter and what don't
- How to analyze what content works and what doesn't
- How to find your most valuable content

If you participate fully, by the end of the workshop you'll have a working Google Data Studio dashboard to showcase your content marketing efforts.

### Requirements and Prerequisites

Please note that this is a hands-on workshop. Participants will be expected to bring computational resources like a laptop or tablet with them, and have access to the following software and tools:

- Spreadsheet software like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- Web analytics software like Google Analytics
- Visualization software like Google Data Studio or Tableau Software

Basic familiarity with these software packages is required (how to login, how to start a new document, general knowledge of what buttons perform what functions, general knowledge of what different charts and graphs do).

While Chris won’t physically be in the room with you to view your laptop, this will be an interactive workshop where you can work directly with Chris to collaborate on your project.

### Recommended Level

This workshop is recommended for beginners in analytics. If you are already familiar with tactics like time decay, attribution modeling, and regression analysis, this workshop is too basic for you and you will likely not benefit from it.
