The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) transforms marketing for any organization doing business in the EU. With its emphasis on getting permission from consumers to use their personal data, the GDPR requires companies to move trust "upstream," i.e., to create trust-based relationships at the beginning of the customer-engagement, in order to get access to precious personal data. This session will survey the post-GDPR marketing environment and explore how content marketing and customer journey management can help nurture trust in consumers before they purchase.

Takeaway

- Four months in, how has the GDPR transformed the marketing landscape and general business environment?
- Why does "marketing for permission" to access data become the foremost task for marketers?
- How do content marketing and customer journey management help move trust upstream and provide access to personal data in the early stages of the engagement?
